Young Paris

Mr Eazi is really facing a tough time pleasing a lot of people in the social media and blogosphere as folks find faults in what he spews.

Roc Nation Afrobeats artiste, Young Paris has faulted Mr Eazi’s inability to differentiate between Afrobeat and Afrobeats. The American based musician in a brief Instagram post said Mr Eazi was ‘wilding’ and saying a lot of shit.

Young Paris who has worked with Mavin Records artistes Tiwa Savage and Reekado Banks claims there is a difference between Afrobeat and Afrobeats and that difference is very important for the culture.

He said Afrobeat should only be referred to as music made by the genre pioneer Fela, which still remains as his legacy. While Afrobeats is any music done by any contemporary African artistes, which has sub-genres like, Afro-house, Afropop, Afrofusion, Afrotrap etc.

Watch him express himself below:

Stop calling this shit AFROBEAT it’s AFROBEATS!. All Afropop, Afrohouse, Afrotrap, Afrofusion etc. are all sub categories of “AFROBEATS”. Also get wit the program @spotify @itunes @tidal @pandora @soundcloud @deezer // #ALWAYSFORTHECULTURE #AFROBEATS #KINGPARIS ✊?
