New Afro-pop Sensation Abz Set To Drop Backstage Boy EP

Twenty-three-year-old up-and-coming afro hip-hop singer, Abdulsalam Tosin, also known as , has disclosed that he is set to release an electronic playlist titled The Backstage Boy.

Billed to be unveiled in September, the Yoruba Demon crooner, said the EP, which would have five tracks, would have African Ladies and Bunker on it.

According to , who is a Computer, Library and Information Science graduate from Kwara State University, African Ladies is dedicated to African women because “they are the real fans''.

His words, “The Backstage Boy is about showing the world what I have to offer. For years I have been working behind the scene and now I have the opportunity to show the world what I have. Among the tracks, African Ladies is my favourite because you know it is the ladies and they are the real fans.”

On why he didn't study music, , who is under the DNA Music record label, said it was for peace to reign. “I love music, but my Dad wants the certificate, while I want music. I have loved music for as long as I can remember. I recall that I started performing on stage when I was in JSS 1 at the University of Ilorin Secondary School. But, in all, music helps me to escape a lot of things, like peer pressure. In fact, music is my best friend.”

, who identified Wizkid as his role model, wants youths to understand that it is not only having ‘connection' that leads to success as but hard work and prayer are also key.
