January 2017 has been very productive when it comes to our music industry, Everyone is really trying to get along this January with so many artists releasing hit’s upon hit’s. I must say that our music industry is really blessed with so many talents. We hereby try to highlight those songs we can’t do without whenever the sound gets to our ear, this are songs we can relate to wherever it’s been played.
Below is the list, This songs might not be your favorite for this January but we chose them according to how they are making waves across our respective streets.
10. HumbleSmith – Beautiful Lagos.
N-Tyze Entertainment act, Humblesmith dropped a new single titled Beautiful Lagos. The singer shows his dexterity and mastery of the highlife genre and also his knowledge of the Lagos City, mentioning and highlighting development projects ongoing in Abule Egba, Pen cinema and on the Island.
9. Seyi Shay – Yolo Yolo.
Seyi shay begins her 2017 with this love acclaimed tune , We have no other choice than put it on our No.9 , Dj coublon did Justice to the beat and can’t help than siging and dancing for it anytime you hear this hit.
8. Sugarboy – Dada Omo.
G-Worldwide act Sugarboy welcomes fans into the New Year with a new single titled “Dada Omo”. The mid-tempo pop song which was written by Sugarboy was produced by Dj Coublon who has been responsible for most of the hit songs to have come out of the label and a beautiful guitar skills was demonstrated by Fiokee. 7. Mr Eazi – Mad Over You (Runtown Cover)
Runtown‘s “mad over you” is currently soaring on the charts across Africa , Mr Eazi had some spare time on his hands to jump on the Del’B production to deliver a short and sweet refix. This one got our No.7, listen below.
6. Sarkodie ft. Masterkraft – Just In Case.
Sarkodie dish out his first joint of the new year in what sounds like a genuine love song dedicated to the love of his life Tracy Sarkcess, The dedication song is tagged “Just Incase” and he enlisting super producer Masterkraft with a sample from his Because Of You song previously released in 2015. Ok this got our No.6 spot.
5. Yemi Alade – Sugar & Spice.
Yemi Alade has been consistence in making cool and unique African sound’s since her break in the industry, She began 2017 with this love tune titled Sugar & Spice, She always delivers cool sounds whenever we thought nothing new will be coming, She actually got our No.5 spot. 4. Falz – Wehdone Sir.
This one needs no introduction, I actually thought that this song is a joke until it starts making it’s way into the music scene. Falz’s Wehdone Sir has been the anthem in the street and on Social media. Listen to this song below and see if it’s worth our No.4 rating.
3. Koker – Bokiniyen
Kolewerk crooner and Chocolate City artiste Koker is kicked off the year with this super hit titled BOKINIYEN. Sang in a mix of both English & Yoruba and Ibo. Bokiniyen dishes out the vocals that is loved by fans all over with the twist of a mid-tempo vibe. This got our 3rd rating. Listen below.
2. Davido & Mayorkun – Prayer
Davido enlists the Headies Rookie act of the year Mayorkun on this one as they both crafted out their respective tunes and sound on this one, Ask a Yoruba guy about this hit and see him bluffing about it.
